New Plan To Build Defi Services Infra On Cardano By EMURGO

· Cardano enters the DeFi world

· Emurgo has announced the Astarter launch

· Emurgo has partnered with BlockChain4A

· Cardano integrates Plutus smart contract functionality with Alonzo hard fork

Cardano is entering the DeFi world. Its commercial arm Emurgo has announced the Astarter launch and has fostered a partnership with the China-based tech firm BlockChain4A for a joint venture launch. The parties hope to combine the two companies’ knowledge to develop the technical infrastructure via collaboration.

Earlier this week, Cardano integrated Plutus smart contract functionality via its eagerly awaited Alonzo hard fork. Now developers can deploy various dApps on the network. Within 24 hours of the event, already 100 smart contracts had been deployed.

This was a confirmation of the seamless integration. Astarter’s first step was to develop an IDO (initial decentralized exchange offering) launchpad for release at the end of the year, followed by a decentralized exchange on Cardano.

After this, Astarter plans to include integrating decentralized features like borrowing and lending on Cardano. This would add utility to ADA (Cardano’s native token) users. It would also provide much-needed financial services to underbanked people. In a statement, EMURGO CEO Ken Kodama said, “A wider range of services promotes financial inclusion and social cohesion, especially in areas lacking in traditional financial services.”
